Old library joke: A chicken walks into a library.  The librarian asks 'What would you like?'  The chicken replies 'Book, book, book!' I work at a small school library.  The door is kept open so that the kids can just come in.  Next door is one of the classrooms, and they keep chooks (hens).  They're allowed to roam free, because it's 'the Montessori way'. I've... been expecting this to happen for quite some time, actually.  I was covering books with my back turned to the library, since the children rarely need my help.  One of the students walks into the library.  I say hello, she gets on with looking at books, and I get back to covering.

I like baking.  Correction; I love baking.  I'm baking right now, working on this journal entry between tray-swapping. Now, it could be that the oven is a bit old, and the temperature isn't as high as it should be as a consequence.  In which case, that isn't my fault, especially since this is a new recipe I'm trying out. I've just had to go and do some tray-swapping, and that was... interesting.  The top shelf in the oven should be lowered, because the baking paper (which, admittedly, I should have trimmed) started to singe in the corner; a pre-cursor to fire.  Got it out before a fire could actually start, and decided to put the trays in o
